14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHAKA ADELINE

03/06/2025

Swedish DJ/producer AKA Adeline (fka Adeline) kicks off a new creative era with the launch of her first-ever label, Liveism, and its debut release in the form of her two-track ‘Satisfaction’ EP.

A seasoned selector with previous releases on Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Kindisch, and La Fleur’s Power Plant, AKA Adeline is no stranger to crafting standout records for the world’s leading imprints. Now, she channels that same bold vision into Liveism—a new home for her own artistic direction and future-facing sounds rooted in emotion, groove, and liberation.

The four-track ‘Satisfaction’ EP leads the charge with a message of power and play. Title track ‘Satisfaction’ is a vibrant, vocal-driven cut built on slinky melodies, deep bass, and hypnotic grooves—hallmarks of Adeline’s unmistakable sound. It’s paired with two refined reworks from Ibiza-based house don Tuccillo, delivering both a slick vocal mix and a deeper, stripped-back dub version. The package closes with ‘Lucky Strike’, a playful anthem celebrating confidence, flirtation, and the thrill of owning your story.

“I wanted to write a positive and empowering lyric, and ‘Satisfaction’ became that ”, Adeline shares. “It’s a track about stepping into your inner power and being unapologetic about it! ‘Lucky Strike’ is a song for all the play girls and boys out there. Life is a game, isn’t it? And now, you got lucky, and it’s all in your hands...”

Q: Please introduce yourself

I’m AKA Adeline, recently newborn under this moniker, but my roots go deep with music… Originally from Sweden, half Uruguayan. I’m a creative soul who thrives in sunny climates, currently residing in Ibiza. When it comes to music, I love to tell stories and let music guide my way forward in life. Love is the reason; music is the form.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

Prince! He’s an absolute blessing to this world, and his wisdom, wit and confidence are what I love about him, apart from his legendary contribution to music.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Actually, I already have a few superpowers... Yesterday, I realized I’m acquiring a new one, however, and it is that everyone who I cross paths with will feel blissfully loved. I think this will be a great superpower to have that will be of great benefit to people. No matter the situation or connection, whether at the food store or with a loved one, it’s a sprinkle of fairy dust in all situations.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

It would definitely have to be a chill, beautiful film, like ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ or something like that! I’d be doing a lot of field recordings and creating gripping ambiences.

Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?

Oh, I don’t think I can give credit to just one person. I believe this is an ever-evolving thing. There have been many guides on my path, and I’m grateful for them all.

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

I’m a deep seeker and music, for me, has always been going hand in hand with my growth as a person. I thrive on freedom and making my own rules in life, so that’s what’s brought me all the travels, movement and living in different countries. A strong perseverance is something inherent in me, so I just never give up. If I have a goal, I keep going, even when it gets tough, which it has many times. I’m totally ready for a new chapter now, and I feel like I have gained the momentum I needed to progress with more confidence than ever.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?

Finding your original sound and expression, I feel, is so needed in today’s more and more streamlined creative output. It can seem like the harder way at first, but it will pay off.

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

One of the best shows I did was in Costa Rica at Antik. The energy in the room that night was incredible, and I was taking a lot of risks, which felt freeing. It was so well received. Another highlight was when I first played at Get Lost in Miami; it felt amazing to be a part of that event, something I had dreamed of and a wish that had come true.

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

It’s most definitely an ever-evolving thing. I would say that you will notice a change in my sound with my upcoming releases, and even more so with my album, which is an even bigger change. I will be taking risks for sure, but it’s the way it’s got to be. Authenticity is the highest frequency of all.

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

I’m already feeling quite free in my sound, ranging from tech house to house and sometimes techno or disco, depending on the type of set. However, I’m reaching into a more organic sound with my album with a lot of real instruments, etc.

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

So I started listening to Swedish band The Knife when I was about twelve, so that definitely had something to do with it. ‘Heartbeat’ is a classic, which Jesper Dahlbäck later made a remix of. I remember playing it as I started DJing. From that time I started playing, I also remember having Snoop Dogg’s ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ on a white label as a house remix; oh, I loved it. It was so fun to play!

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

I really don’t know! I haven’t lived in Sweden for 15 years now, and I’ve been playing more abroad…

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

I’ve just launched my own label, Liveism, and I’ll be putting out a few more songs and EPs there over the summer. Then, towards fall, I’ll be releasing my album, which will be very exciting.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

I haven’t drunk alcohol for about 10 years now, and it’s been one of the best decisions of my life!
