Following an impressive run of releases across 2025, Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi Records now welcomes Amedeo Picone, with his ‘Get Naughty’ EP. Picone’s rapid rise on the global circuit and string of sharp, stellar productions have naturally caught the attention of Capriati’s distinct A&R vision. Now with his ‘Get Naughty’ EP, Amedeo Picone delivers a refined yet ferocious package on Metamorfosi Records, a clear statement of intent from both artist and label as they dive into 2026.
‘Get Naughty’ sets the tone with crisp, rolling percussion, sultry vocal hooks, and a silky melodic flow, locking into an irresistible groove designed to command the dancefloor. ‘Sugar Daddy’ follows, contrasting delicate, atmospheric textures with a hefty bassline, as a low-end growl pans through the mix. With ‘They’re Just Talking’, Picone strips things back for a no-nonsense cut driven by tight, hypnotic rhythms and sharp rap vocal work, while ‘Please Don’t Stop Me Now’ marries the EP together perfectly, unveiling a peak-time energy that pairs punchy organ stabs with surging momentum.
Q: Please introduce yourself
My name is Amedeo Picone, and I’m a DJ and producer from Naples, Italy. Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I inherited this passion from my father, who is also a DJ, so growing up surrounded by records and sound naturally shaped who I am today.
Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?
Quincy Jones. I would love to sit down with him to talk about music, exchange energy, and draw inspiration from his stories, his vision, and the wisdom he has gained throughout such an incredible career.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I would choose the power to heal people. Being able to bring more harmony, love, and balance into the world would be something truly special.
Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?
I would love to work on a film score one day, and I definitely don’t exclude this possibility in the future. If I had to choose an existing movie, it would be Interstellar. I already have a clear idea in my mind of the sounds, the melodic key, and the atmosphere I would use. I’m deeply fascinated by the mystery of the universe and everything that comes with it.
Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?
More than a single person, my biggest influences have been life experiences. Naples has influenced me deeply — it’s a city where art flows from every corner. London also played a huge role; I lived in the UK for a year, and even though I was based in Swansea, Wales, I often traveled to London to play and absorb the local scene. At the same time, I draw inspiration daily from people, cities, and nature — anything that sparks curiosity.
Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?
My journey started when I was 14 years old. I grabbed my father’s vinyl records — he owns over 6,000 — and started playing in our garage on his Technics 1210 MKII turntables. From there, I began playing in clubs around Naples at a very young age, starting with opening sets and gradually moving into main slots, eventually opening for international artists visiting the city.
A crucial moment came when I moved to Swansea, Wales, at 20 years old for a year. It was a life experience meant to improve my English, but most importantly to play music in the UK, between Swansea and London, and to grow both artistically and personally.
In 2021, I won an international competition organized by elrow, with over 4,000 artists from 77 countries participating. They selected me, and from that moment, my international career truly began.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?
The advice I’d give to anyone starting out is to truly believe in it, be persistent, and never do it for money or fame. Without deep love and passion for music, you won’t go far — it won’t sustain you through the ups and downs of an artistic career. Humility is also key: there is always something to learn, every single day, while respecting fellow artists and everyone working in the industry.
Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?
My most memorable DJ set so far was at Amnesia Ibiza. It was a closing set, with sunlight coming through the roof, my family and closest friends right there with me, and an incredible energy both around me and on the dancefloor. An unforgettable moment.
Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?
My music is constantly evolving. I love all kinds of music, and from a young age I’ve always experimented — from house to electronic music and techno. Today, I feel happy to have found the key to merging all these worlds into my own personal sound. It has no genre barriers, but a coherent foundation that makes it recognizable. My goal is always to connect the past with the present and the future, which feels natural after growing up with a DJ father who introduced me to the roots of underground house and electronic music.
Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?
I don’t limit myself to any genre. For me, music has no boundaries. I don’t judge genres, I judge individual tracks. If a UK garage or an Afro house track moves me, I can easily integrate it into my DJ sets. Music should be free of borders and labels.
Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?
Choosing only three tracks is really difficult — listening to my father’s vinyls felt like being hit by a hurricane. But if I had to choose, I’d say:
1- “Free” by Ultra Naté,
2- “You Don’t Know Me” by Armand Van Helden,
3- “Around The World” by Daft Punk.
I loved their composition, the culture behind them, and they made me mentally travel into a future full of music and emotions.
Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?
There are hundreds of special locations in my city. Naples is full of history, art, and nature. Right now, I’d imagine a rave in Piazza del Plebiscito — a massive square, a powerful sound system, surrounded by history and just steps away from the natural beauty of the Gulf of Naples. Concerts already happen there, but an electronic music rave would be truly magical.
Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?
This year will be full of music. On January 30th, I’ll release Get Naughty, a 4-track EP on Metamorfosi Records by Joseph Capriati. Then there’s a single coming on Stereo Productions by DJ Chus, an EP on Snatch! Records by Riva Starr, and another EP on NUSONIDO by Calussa.
And that’s not all — I’ve already signed more tracks with other labels that I can’t reveal just yet. My goal is to spread my sound around the world through both my productions and my DJ sets.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?
A fun fact about me is that I’m an extreme Napoli football fan. I can literally sleep badly and be in a bad mood for days if Napoli doesn’t win — seriously! Luckily, we’re current Italian champions, so everything is going great… and maybe that’s why 2026 is shaping up to be a very exciting year!
