14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHanthon

Interviewed by GBS , October 05.2022

Q: How would you describe yourself in one word?

Dedicated.

Q: What was the driving force that got you into Music Production and when?

I first got into music production during 2019, when I was fascinated by the art of sound design and mood setting. At first I was always a DJ, never thought I’d be able to break down the ideas in my head into tracks. Until I decided to get myself into the production business.

Q: Analog or Digital? And why?

Digital. I happen to prefer using Digital, its way more accessible! Of course having analog gear can be better for quality reasons, but I guess Digital is the future.

Q: What's your favorite venue and why does it stand out from the rest?

In my case, I’m going to name my top LOCAL venue, which is The Grand Factory, it happens to be the first leading venue that I’ve ever played at, and it stands out with The Reunion room, which has the best sound system in my opinion.

Q: If you had to play 1 more track at your favorite club, what track would it be and why?

The Prodigy – Firestarter, This track reminds me of my childhood, I was a heavy metal fan, I love the sounds of instruments, and this band was instrumental and electronic at once in my opinion. I’ve been in love with The Prodigy’s sound ever since I was a little kid.

Q: If you were to have a superpower, what would it be and why?

Flying. I’ve always dreamt of Flying, it’s great to have a clearer vision of the world from above, and see how small we are.
Q: 1 person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

Adam Beyer, from Drumcode Records. A very successful business man in the music industry and definitely someone that I’m interested to have the chance to meet one day.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score from the past, what movie would you choose and why?

I would choose ‘Transformers’. I think it fits the most to my sound direction and contains a lot of robotic feels.

Q: Recommend a under rated talent in your home country

I would definitely choose Foglight. He’s one of the best producers I’ve known.

Q: What are 3 tracks that got you into electronic music?

Moby – Porcelain

Aphex Twin - Ageispolis

Kraftwerk  –  Computer Love

Q: Tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for this year.

I’ve been working a new EP for two different labels, consisting of 2 tracks each and one remix for each. It’s basically a mixture of robotic and disco sounds. I’ve been always eager to release this kind of records and now is the time. I featured one of those tracks as an intro for my upcoming Toka podcast.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners don't know.

One of the things that people don't know about me, is that i'm a huge Basketball fan. It's one of the things that make me clear off my mind.

Q: Last but not least, do you have any questions for the viewer/reader?

I’ve known the Toka family ever since they launched their project. I’m always happy to be on board and excited for the future. Thank you for existing!
