Rising Italian producer AtcG makes his debut Trick outing with ‘Conteo’, a fiery single set to close out August for Patrick Topping’s imprint. Following recent drops on labels like Armada Music, Insomniac, and Black Lizard–where his breakout hit ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ topped Beatport’s Tech House chart and broke into the Top 10 overall–AtcG now steps into the Trick spotlight with his signature blend of analog warmth and digital bite.
Q: Please introduce yourself
I’m a DJ and music producer from Italy, passionate about creating sounds that connect people on the dancefloor. My style blends deep grooves, emotional melodies, and energetic beats. I want my sets and productions to tell a story and leave people with a lasting memory.
Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?
I’d love to have a coffee with Daft Punk. Their vision and ability to merge innovation with timelessness completely changed electronic music, and I’d love to understand their creative process.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation. I’d love to be able to play a set in Tokyo, then instantly catch a sunrise in Ibiza without ever missing a beat.
Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?
I’d choose Blade Runner 2049. The film already has an incredible futuristic soundscape, and I’d love to bring my own twist to that cyberpunk, emotional, and atmospheric world.
Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?
Besides some of the legends of electronic music, I’ve been influenced a lot by the underground scene, the energy of small, raw clubs and passionate DJs shaped the way I approach music.
Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?
I started out experimenting with sounds in my bedroom, then playing small local gigs. Over time, I pushed myself into producing tracks, learning from mistakes, and staying consistent. Every step, whether it was a tiny club or a bigger stage, taught me something new.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?
Be patient and stay authentic. Don’t chase trends, focus on developing your own sound and building real connections with people.
Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?
Yes, one of my most unforgettable sets was in Miami last year. The crowd’s energy, the atmosphere, and that perfect moment when everyone moved together, it felt like pure magic.
Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?
It started more raw and experimental, and over time it has become more refined and melodic, with a balance between groove and emotion. I’ve grown more confident in blending different influences into something personal.
Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?
Probably jazz. The freedom of improvisation and musical dialogue in jazz inspires me a lot; it’s similar to DJing, where you interact with the crowd and the moment.
Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?
1- Call On Me by Eric Prydz – because it opened my mind to how powerful electronic beats can be.
2- Leave The World Behind by Swedish House Mafia – it showed me the emotional side of electronic music.
3- One More Time by Daft Punk – it made me want to become a DJ and share that feeling with others.
Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?
The EX NATO BASE “Dosso Dei Galli”, near my hometown. The atmosphere, the raw energy, and the natural beauty make it a place where music would feel truly alive.
Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?
I have a few new tracks coming out that dive deeper into my signature sound, as well as collaborations with artists I really admire. I’m also planning to play in new cities and connect with a wider audience.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?
When I’m not making music, I’m obsessed with motorcycles. I ride a BMW URBAN GS 1200, the best motorcycle in the world.
