Sol Selectas is a record label known for releasing melodic electronic music with organic sounds, and its new release comes from Ayala (IT). Ayala (IT) first featured on Sol Selectas when contributing to their annual Summer Sol compilation, but this is his second solo release, and it features a fantastic track called “Njambi”. Not only does Ayala (IT) provide two alternative versions, but there are also impressive remixes from Djeff and Jaykill.There is a strong Afro house vibe running through the release, and that’s particularly strong within the remix by Djeff who is a highly regarded Afro house producer also known for his label Kazukuta. He has also released on Watergate Records, and his music takes influence from his family’s African heritage. Jaykill is a rising star who has already made waves with music on Cosmic Awakenings, and he makes a debut on Sol Selectas with an Afro-tinged remix.Opening the release is the original mix of “Njambi” that features the stunning vocals of Nes Mburu, who’s an African singer who adds his voice to the release. His spellbinding vocals are the track’s main focal point, and they are joined by poignant piano keys and upbeat percussion that give the track a dance floor friendly vibe. There is also an ‘Alt Mix’ from Ayala (IT) that adds additional percussion and a new bassline to the backing track of the vocal, delivering an Afro house version of the deep house original.The first remix comes from Djeff who lifts the intensity with an upbeat Afro house remix that adds techy synth sounds and extra percussion with fast-paced rhythms. Second of the remixes is by Jaykill, who showcases his mastery of finding the sweet spot between upbeat percussion and heartfelt emotion. Jaykill works in some new percussion, but keeps the vocals and piano from the original to maintain a soothing vibe.
