14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHconcret

Interviewed by GBS , June.24.2022

Q: How would you describe yourself in one word?

I am gentle

Q: What was the driving force that got you into Music Production and when?

I flipped from being a drummer to being a music producer when I had to sample sounds for a master degree project at my Architecture School in Milan more than ten years ago.

Q: Analog or Digital? And why?

My studio is the perfect combination of the mix of the two, but if I had to choose just one I would say analog. I believe the sound is better and in the long run the limitations of working with analog expand your creativity.. Digital gave too many tools that can distract you.

Q: What's your favorite venue and why does it stand out from the rest?

The Perfect venue doesn't exist, just the perfect moment and that's possible just with a good sound system, a groovy dance floor and a minimum amount of artificial lights. And of course a DJ that does not play bullshit.

Q: What makes a DJ set standout from the rest?

The groove, the ability to stay connected to the crowd, the subtle emotions that come through the music.

Q: If you were to have a superpower, what would it be and why?

I mean with this job no doubt would be tele-transportation.
Q: 1 person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

I’ll give you 3: Brian Eno, Shakespeare, Fabrizio De André

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score from the past, what movie would you choose and why?

I give you 2: Deep Red by Dario Argento.. music by Goblins because that's the perfection of film score and Once Upon A Time in America just because it makes me cry every time and Ennio Morricone is my idol.

Q: Recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would fit a perfect rave?

Home country is Italy, that's where I grew up so I would say: Gaznevada - I.C. Love Affair

Q: What are 3 tracks that got you into electronic music?

'Right Here Right Now' by Fat Boy Slim, 'Hey Boy Hey Girl' by The Chemical Brothers 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy

Q: Tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for this year.

I am focusing on the b2b with Iñigo Vontier..this is the next project I am putting all the energies on and probably also releasing some music with him in the next year. Next releases are still in the process of being made.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners don't know.

I don't like the music of most of the big names out there.

Q: Last but not least, do you have any questions for the viewer/reader?

What's the future of Dance Music?
