After the massive success of his 2023 hit Desert Night, DJ PP returns with another explosive club weapon: Game Of Life. This latest tech house release is a relentless groove-machine, packed with hypnotic risers and driving tech-infused rhythms. Designed for peak-time dancefloors, Game Of Life cements DJ PPs status as a master of club-ready anthems.

Q: Please introduce yourself

My name is Gabriel Rocha, also known as DJ PP. I'm a DJ and electronic music producer with over 20 years of experience. I'm originally from Uruguay and currently based in Chile, where I continue to develop my career and contribute to the electronic music scene from different angles.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

What an interesting question — you’ve really put me on the spot, because there are so many musicians and producers I’d love to have a coffee with. But if I had to choose just one, it would be Stevie Wonder. He’s one of my all-time favorite musicians — a true genius whose music has inspired me deeply over the years.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I’d love to have the power to travel to the future and come back. Just to know everything — what’s coming, what choices lead where. I think it would be fascinating to see how things unfold and maybe bring back some wisdom.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

I’d love to create the music for the films my oldest son, Valentín, plans to make in the future. It would be a beautiful way to keep everything in the family — combining his vision with my sound.

Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?

My biggest influence as an electronic music producer comes from the music I played as a DJ back in the ’90s. Whenever I face creative blocks, I always go back to those sounds — they inspire and activate me to make new music.

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

I could write for hours about my journey, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that consistency and commitment are everything. Those values have been key to getting me where I am today.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?

The most important thing is to have a clear path. Then, maintain constant dedication and commitment to your music. Above all, learn to finish your projects and get them released. I know many people who keep their tracks stuck on their computers, afraid to finalize or share them. In short: consistency, commitment, and knowing how to complete your work.

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

As a DJ, I’ve played in many places around the world, but the most special for me was performing at Space Ibiza before its final closure. That club made history on the island, and being part of that moment and legacy is unforgettable.

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

I believe that the more time you spend producing, the better you get at refining the processes that make your music sound better. But my style has remained consistent since I started. If you listen to my tracks from 2012, they’re quite similar to what I produce today — I specialize in creating timeless music.

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

In my 18 years as an electronic music producer, I’ve worked across many genres under different aliases — Minimal, Techno, Deep House, Tech House, Trance, Funk, House. But today, I wouldn’t change anything: producing House music is where I feel at home, and I don’t want to switch to another genre.

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

Only three? That’s tough! I have thousands in mind, but I’ll try to pick just three.

1. Dee-Lite – Groove Is in the Heart

2. Technotronic – Get Up

3. Dr. Alban – It’s My Life

These tracks were some of the first electronic songs I heard that made me fall in love with the energy, rhythm, and creativity of the genre.

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

I’ve been living in Chile for many years now, but if I had to pick a place in my home country, Uruguay, it would be Punta Ballena. It offers an incredible view of Punta del Este, and it would be an amazing spot for a sunset party — the atmosphere would be unforgettable.

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

I have many releases planned for this year, and I’m currently preparing a new album with 10 brand-new tracks, scheduled to be released by the end of the year.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

I’m left-handed.
