Feedasoul Records marks ten years with a 15-track compilation of house music from across the Arab world.
 

10 Years of Feedasoul.

It’s surreal sometimes to think about.

We can sit here and write on all these memories, but in its simplest form, from a small town In a small room, we did something really cool, we highlighted music we loved, with as much passion and the best way we could. We kept it deep funky and soulful all the way throughout, never compromising what we believed in and always trying to help artists around our region and beyond its borders.

We didn’t really know where it would go. We just knew we wanted to hear more of this music around us. We wanted to give the people making it somewhere to put it. And somehow, ten years later, we’re still here.

Still listening and still digging.

For our 10th anniversary, we wanted to come back to where it all began.

Mamnou3 Al Mousiqa Al Sakhiba - “No Loud Music Allowed.”

The words come from a sign that still stands in the old souk of Byblos, put there by the municipality after two of Feedasoul’s founders were playing music in the souk all summer.

At the time, it was a joke. Now, looking back, it feels almost too perfect.

A little sign asking us to be quiet, in the very place where we were trying to make some noise.

So we kept the words, making it our own.

15 tracks. 15 artists. All from the Arab world.

Some have been with us for years. Some are joining the family for the first time.

Different countries, different sounds, different stories - but all coming from the same part of the world that has given us so much music, friendship and inspiration over the years.

This record is not a summary of ten years.

It couldn’t be.

It’s just a snapshot of where we are, where we came from, and the people carrying it forward.
