Brazilian-born producers Greggio and MEDUK make their Hottrax debut with 'Dancing All Night Long', a two-track EP that channels their shared energy into a pair of club-ready cuts. The duo, both now based in London, first linked up on Print ID last year for their 'Right On Time' EP, and their collaborative style carries through here as they showcase a knack for pairing driving grooves with high-impact vocals. The title track pairs bouncy percussion with catchy vocal chops to maintain peak-time momentum, while ‘Back’ rounds out the EP with a deeper, hypnotic groove that also leans into infectious vocal hooks for a more after-hours feel.
Greggio arrives with a growing catalogue spanning labels such as Hellbent, Nervous, and Diynamic, while MEDUK, founder of London event series Organic London, is already gaining traction despite being young in his production journey. The pair join a recent run that has seen the label spotlight collaborative projects from emerging global talent, such as recent EPs from Baggi & Chico Rose and Mellizos & Alex Atenciano, continuing the Hottrax ethos of highlighting global talent to know.
Q: Please introduce yourself
Hey, my name is Jefferson Greggio, better known as Greggio. I was born in Brazil with Italian heritage. I’ve been living in London for the past 11 years.
Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?
Without a doubt, I’d say Jamie Jones. He’s been a huge inspiration for my productions since day one. I’d love to ask him what his turning point was, and what has kept him at the top for so many years.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
That’s an easy one for me, I’d choose to fly. I’ve always loved traveling, so being able to fly would take me to so many new places and let me see the world in a completely different way.
Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?
I’d probably choose Drive. I’ve always liked how music plays such an important role in that film. The soundtrack helps tell the story without saying too much, and I think electronic music can do that really well. Being part of a project like that would be something I’d really enjoy.
Q: Who influenced you the most in your music career and why?
I’d say Jamie Jones, Solomun, and Vintage Culture. They’re the artists who truly made me fall in love with electronic music and inspired me to become a DJ and producer myself.
Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?
Consistency. For me, that’s the key to everything in life. But also never giving up, and surrounding yourself with the right people. There were many moments where I felt like quitting. I sent more than 70 demos to Solomun just to sign an EP on his label. With Jamie Jones it was a similar story. If I had given up at any of those moments, life would probably look very different right now.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?
Definitely consistency, and not giving up. You’re going to spend months making music that maybe nobody hears at first. But you have to keep going, keep improving, and trust the process. That’s what makes the difference over time.
Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?
I’d say my B2B with my friend Beltran. That night was unforgettable. The energy was incredible, the crowd was amazing, and the vibe from start to finish was just on another level. We had the best time in London.
Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?
That’s a funny one, because it all started with an Afro house release. At that time, I think I was making something that fit the scene, but not necessarily what felt most natural to me. Later on, I took a step back and realized Afro house wasn’t truly where my heart was. From that point, I started shaping the sound I have now, a more driving tech house sound that immediately felt more like me.
Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?
Without a doubt, techno. I love it deeply, also as an inspiration. Every now and then I go to techno raves, and it always gives me the best feeling. It’s a sound and energy I really connect with.
Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?
1- Around — Solomun.
2- Hungry for the Power — Jamie Jones.
3- Power — Vintage Culture & Volkoder.
These tracks all have a special feeling for me. They each bring back memories and remind me why I fell in love with electronic music in the first place.
Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?
I’d say Lençóis Maranhenses in Brazil. It’s one of those places that doesn’t look real when you first see it. The combination of sand dunes and lagoons makes it completely unique. Having a rave there during sunrise would be incredible, not because of a big production, but because the setting itself already creates a special atmosphere.
Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?
This year has honestly been the best year of my life so far. It started with a release on Diynamic, followed by releases on Repopulate Mars and Nu Moda. Most recently, my collaboration with Max Styler came out, which has been a huge milestone in my journey.
Next up, I’ve got music coming on Hottrax, along with a lot more exciting releases planned for the rest of the year. I can’t wait to share everything that’s coming.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?
A fun fact about me, and definitely a funny one, happened in São Paulo, Brazil. I was about to get on stage while my friend Maz was playing, and right at the drop of the track I accidentally fell off the stage. The timing couldn’t have been worse, because so many people were filming at that exact moment. So instead of capturing the drop, a lot of them ended up capturing me falling. Looking back, it was pretty hilarious.
