Q: Introduce yourself

Hey Toka, nice meeting you guys.I´m David better known as 'Guzy', 29 years old. I'm a Dj, Producer and Label-co-owner of 'Radikon' from Berlin.

Q: Analog or Digital and why?

I do a mix of both, where digital is overwhelming my productions at the moment, but I want to get more and more analog sounds in there. I have the tools in my studio, so it will get more for sure.

Q: Favorite Club/Venue and why does it stand out from the rest?

In Berlin it's Sisyphos for sure, the vibe you get there is out of this world. You don't enter the Club, you are entering a whole other world. Its a big playground for adults. In Beirut from what I saw and felt I would say the Bunker aka B018, but I haven't been there since they renovated. The vibe in there is special. The sound system is always on point and I loved the crowd, plus Ziad is such a nice guy too.

Q: What was the driving force that got you into DJing/Producing and when?

I started djing a while ago with a friend, we didn't think that ending up professional is an option. With time that flew by I fell in love with it and was forcing myself every time to get better and evolve myself to higher standards. This was years ago when I played Funk and Hip Hop. Jonas Saalbach introduced me to play electronic music, actually while recording a set for a possible hip hop party in Beirut, where I might have ended up. So after that day, I became a Dj for electronic music. Producing started a bit later. I still learn a lot each day and its so much fun to create your own music, that most of my time I spent is producing originals now.

Q: If you were to have a superpower, what would it be and why?

I'm quite happy with myself, but if I could teleport myself, that would make life so much easier.

Q:  What makes you prefer a club (or crowd) more than another?

It's the connection that you feel when you play, sometimes it's super intense. Hard to put in words. But there is something in the air, that can turn a party to another level. I think its Passion that people bring and then you connect with them thru music.

Q: What’s your biggest fear while performing?

I think sometimes it's to piss myself while playing a long set. I think every Dj knows what i'm talking about. It would be nice to have a toilette in the booth sometimes.

Q: 1 person you’d dream to have a coffee with?

My great great aunt, she passed away before I started drinking coffee, I would have been curious what kind of music she liked and other stuff, that I was not interested while being a small child.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score from the past, what movie would you choose and why?

I think this is the toughest question so far. Cause I would love to do that one day. But most movies that I know of do have great scores, and they make perfect sense in that case. I think i'd love to do one by my self for a movie that hasn't one yet.

Q: Recommend a Hidden Gem in your Home country

There is an abandoned Theme Park here in Berlin, it could be a great scenery for a rave I think. It's quite old and nature captured the old rides in there.

Q: 3 tracks that got you into electronic music

Extrawelt – Soopertrack

Noze – You have to dance

Paul Kalkbrenner – Berlin calling

Q: Tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for this year (Exclusive release/announcement)

There is a lot happening. On the 23rd this month I got a Track on the Dunkelheit Compilation coming. On the 5th of August I have an Ep coming, that I made together with my close friend Marc Grabber. You will find this on Wildfang music and it will have a remix by Sandeep from Netherlands and another remix by my friend Tony Casanova. Later that year I will have a Track on my own label Radikon, that I created together with Jonas Saalbach. Its gonna be our first year anniversary this winter and 'Reto II' will see daylight.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most of your followers don’t know

My Dj Name Guzy is simply my last name. I was lazy and liked it as an Artist-name.

Q: Last but not least, do you have any question for us?

Guzy: Wanna have dinner while i'm in town?

Toka: Knowing that the interview is up after your show, I hope you enjoyed the drinks we had in Beirut!
