Kiume hails from Turin and is part of a wave of new-school producers within the underground house scene. With releases on Materialism, Innocent Music and Flashmob Records, alongside support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Marco Carola and Melanie Ribbe, the Italian producer is making a name for himself with his dark, bass-driven sonics. Now, Kiume makes his debut on Junior Jack’s Adesso Music imprint with his latest single ‘Break The Sound’.

‘Break The Sound’ is a moody and direct slice of deep tech. Tight drum programming, acid flavours and quirky sound design colour the groove, while slinking basslines drive the track with rolling momentum. A confident debut on Adesso Music, the single underlines Kiume’s knack for crafting functional club music with plenty of personality.

Q: Please introduce yourself

I’m Kiume, an Italian artist who started his journey playing through the local club scene in Turin. My musical style spans a wide spectrum, blending funk with electronic music, with a strong focus on tech house infused with dark, underground sounds. I’m all about heavy, intricategrooves, and I build my creations with the bass right at the absolute center.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

Michael Bibi, without a doubt. He has been a huge inspiration for me, especially in how he crafts his iconic, bass-heavy Tech House grooves. I’d love to talk to him about his approach to music production, his mindset behind building such an incredible brand like Solid Grooves, and his resilience both in life and in the music industry. 

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Invisibility. It would be amazing to walk into any club or festival anywhere in the world undetected, just to watch the crowd’s raw reactions and absorb the vibe from the inside. Plus, being able to quietly observe how top DJs work their magic in the booth without any distractions would be an incredible tool for inspiration.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

To be honest, I’m not much of a movie fan! My focus and energy are almost always directed toward the dance floor and club culture. But if I had to pick something, I’d probably choose an intense, underground thriller or a fast-paced action scene—something where I could bring in my signature dark, heavy basslines and driving tech house grooves to make the tension even more explosive. 

Q: Who influenced you the most in your music career and why?

Rather than a single person, my biggest influence comes directly from 70s and 80s Funk and Disco. That era was all about infectious rhythms, organic warmth, and basslines that moved people naturally. I take that classic groove-heavy DNA and fuse it into modern Tech House, giving my sound that signature driving rhythm while keeping the energy dark and underground.
 

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

My journey really started thanks to my close friends in the music scene. They were the ones who truly inspired me and pushed me into this world, encouraging me to pick up my very first DJ gear and music production equipment. From practicing endlessly in my room to playing local clubs in Turin, their support and my passion for crafting heavy grooves are what constantly drive me to keep growing as an artist.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?

Don't rush the process. Put your heart into it, stay consistent, and be patient. Success doesn't happen overnight, but with real passion and hard work, everything comes with time. Just keep refining your sound and enjoying the journey.

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

It definitely has to be my set for the “Sextacy” night right here in Turin. The crowd’s energy was completely unmatched from start to finish. The vibe in the room was so raw and alive that every drop hit twice as hard, and connecting with the dancefloor on that level made it a night I'll never forget.

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

Over time, my sound has shifted toward a much darker, punchier, and more minimal aesthetic. While I’ve always kept a heavy groove as the core of my music, I’ve leaned into stripped-back, underground elements and darker atmospheres that really take over the dancefloor.

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

It would definitely be Reggae or pure Funk. Funk is already a massive part of my musical DNA and influences how I structure my Tech House basslines today. As for Reggae, I love the relaxed yet irresistible rhythm, the heavy sub-bass presence, and the hypnotic vibe it brings. Both genres focus heavily on the groove, which is what I'm all about.

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

Honestly, there’s one track that stands above everything else for me: "Devil's Candy" by Michael Bibi. That track was a complete game-changer. The way the baseline hits, the dark groove, and the overall energy inspired my whole approach to electronic music and Tech House. It holds a fundamental place in my musical journey.

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

I honestly recommend Italy as a whole. Every single region has incredible landscapes, from historic monuments and industrial spaces to coastline and mountains. Combining Italy's natural and architectural beauty with high-energy electronic music of any genre creates a unique, magical contrast that elevates the whole rave experience.

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

I have several new tracks lined up for release this year, and my goal is to keep pushing forward step by step, getting my music heard by more and more people around the world while staying true to that deep, underground vibe.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

Before I jump into a studio session or get ready for a set, I have a secret ritual: I always listen to genres that have nothing to do with Tech House or electronic music. Stepping completely out of my usual soundscape helps me clear my mind, relax, and reset my ears before diving into heavy, high-energy basslines.
