Latyshev drops a new organic house/downtempo release called ‘Danza del Sol’ and along with his two original tracks, there are also remixes by Lama's Dream, Matt Jah and Ksky. It’s a low-slung release with heavy percussion, live instrumentation and invigorating synths. The release’s title track “Danza del Sol” is a mystical track with a spiritual vibe and the other original “Caballos & Arena” is powered by swelling synths. This release comes via the Baikal Nomads record label, and it’s the second time they have worked with Latyshev, as the Spaniard previously did a remix for them in 2020. Latyshev normally releases most of his music via his own label Alae Records, so it’s rare to see him feature original music on another imprint.Lama's Dream had already worked with Latyshev via releasing music on Alae Records, but he has also worked with Baikal Nomads before his remix on this release, and his dramatic version is a compelling rework of the title track. Also remixing the EP’s title track, Matt Jah is a Baikal Nomads regular whose trippy music can be heard on other imprints including IONO LOUNGE and Tropical Twista Records.Making his Baikal Nomads debut, Ksky closes out the package with a melodic remix in the synth led style he has released via his own label KSKY TRX.First up, the original mix of Danza del Sol has pan-pipes play the melody, before the synths start to become more prominent in the second part of the track. Chanting vocals and organic percussion create a free-flowing vibe that’s underpinned by the thud of the kick drum.Second of the two original tracks, “Caballos & Arena” is much more synthetic than its predecessor, as its swelling bassline is the main focal point. It also has ambient vocal tones and other organic textures that create a deep atmosphere underneath the shuffling hi-hats.Lama's Dream provides a refined version of Danza del Sol that pushes back some of the original’s percussion and background atmospherics to make the kick drum and bass more prominent.Matt Jah uses less of the original’s pan-pipes to make space for finger picked guitar chords and an added vocal that give the track a whole new sound.Ksky takes a different approach with his rework of Danza del Sol, which adds new synths to give his version a dystopian sound that provides nice contrast with the other remix versions.
