Q: Please introduce yourself
Hello, I'm Max Dean, DJ / producer from London, UK.
Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?
David Goggins. His mentality and mindset is something I've always looked up to. I'dlove to have a chat with him and gain some inspiration.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
To be able to make music indefinitely without getting tired!
Q: If given the opportunity to create a film score, which movie would you choose and why?
Any film with Leonardo Dicaprio. He's the best.
Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And who has been the most influential in your personal life?
My parents for both. Always listening to great music whilst I was growing up. Definitely helped me.
Q: Could you share with us your journey – the good and bad experiences that have brought you to where you are today?
Being fearless, taking opportunities & not caring what people think. Having an amazing team around me.
Q: Everyone goes through ups and downs, what’s one habit you adopt to push through the downs?
Glass half-full mentality. The downs make the ups a lot more sweeter!
Q: What is one pro work ethic that you would recommend to the readers/listeners?
If making music isn't working, take a break and listen to different genres.
Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?
Well, to put it lightly, I used to make dubstep. Now I make house music. So yes, it has changed very much.
Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?
If I had to pick another genre, it would be liquid drum and bass. I think it's a really cool sound.
Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?
AZARI & III - Reckless With Your Love
Infinity Ink - Alienation
Hot Natured - Benediction
This era of music for me was the best. Unbeatable.
Florence and the machine – You’ve got the Love – Mark Knight Remix –one of the tracks of my early visits to Ibiza.
Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?
Under a bridge somewhere is always good.
Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?
I have a 3 track EP forthcoming on Richy Ahmed's label FourThiryTwo and a remix coming on Darius Syrossian's label MOXY. I'm also touring the USA & AUS.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?
In my track "IN YOU", forthcoming on Richy Ahmed's label, I actually sang the vocals.
