14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHMEDUK

14/07/2026

Brazilian-born producers Greggio and MEDUK make their Hottrax debut with 'Dancing All Night Long', a two-track EP that channels their shared energy into a pair of club-ready cuts. The duo, both now based in London, first linked up on Print ID last year for their 'Right On Time' EP, and their collaborative style carries through here as they showcase a knack for pairing driving grooves with high-impact vocals. The title track pairs bouncy percussion with catchy vocal chops to maintain peak-time momentum, while ‘Back’ rounds out the EP with a deeper, hypnotic groove that also leans into infectious vocal hooks for a more after-hours feel.

Greggio arrives with a growing catalogue spanning labels such as Hellbent, Nervous, and Diynamic, while MEDUK, founder of London event series Organic London, is already gaining traction despite being young in his production journey. The pair join a recent run that has seen the label spotlight collaborative projects from emerging global talent, such as recent EPs from Baggi & Chico Rose and Mellizos & Alex Atenciano, continuing the Hottrax ethos of highlighting global talent to know.

Q: Please introduce yourself

Hi everyone, my name is Bruno Meduqui, also known as Meduk. I’m a DJ and music producer originally from Brazil, but I moved to London seven years ago and it’s been my home ever since. The city has played a huge role in my personal and professional journey, and I’m grateful to be part of such an inspiring music scene.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

That’s a great question. There are quite a few people I’d love to sit down and have a coffee with, but right now I’d have to say Jamie Jones. I’d love the chance to spend some time with him, hear about his journey, and listen to all the stories and experiences he’s collected throughout his career.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I’d definitely choose super speed. Being able to get anywhere in seconds would be incredible. Imagine playing a set in Ibiza and then being in New York an hour later for another gig. That would be amazing and would open up so many possibilities.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

If I had the opportunity to create a film score, I would choose Lucy. What fascinates me about that movie is the way it explores the expansion of human consciousness, time, and the unknown. As a DJ and producer, I’m always inspired by pushing creative boundaries, and Lucy offers endless possibilities for sound design and emotional storytelling through music.

Q: Who influenced you the most in your music career and why?

The first one would definitely be Vintage Culture. More than ten years ago, I attended a festival in Brazil and watched one of his sets, and it completely changed my life. It inspired me to pursue music seriously. I also have to mention Jamie Jones, whose influence can definitely be heard in my productions, as well as Solomun and Max Styler.

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

I believe perseverance is the key to achieving anything in life. There have been many moments when the only option was to keep moving forward, and music has been no different. If you truly want something, you can get there with enough dedication, patience, and hard work.

My journey has taught me that success doesn’t happen overnight, but if you stay focused and never give up, you can achieve incredible things.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?

There’s no real secret. When I started, all I had was my love for music, and that was enough to keep me going. Work hard, keep studying, keep learning, and immerse yourself in the culture. Go to clubs, attend festivals, meet people, and become part of the scene. The opportunities will come naturally over time. Most importantly, enjoy the journey because that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

Without a doubt, my B2B set with Greggio at E1 London. That night was incredibly special because we tested a lot of new productions, including some of our collaborations. The energy in the club was unreal, the crowd was fully connected with us, and we had an amazing time behind the decks. It’s one of those nights I’ll never forget.

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

My journey started with Deep House, and that genre taught me how much I love groove and strong basslines. Over the years, I’ve explored and studied many different genres, taking inspiration from each one. That process helped me develop my own sound and create music that genuinely connects with me on an emotional level.

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

Definitely rock. I play guitar and have been part of two rock bands in the past, so rock music has always been an important part of my life. It still influences me today, even in my electronic productions.

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

1- You Can’t Hide — Vintage Culture.

2- Special Effect — Jamie Jones.

3- Late Night (Solomun Remix) — Foals.

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

I would choose Hopi Hari, the theme park near São Paulo, Brazil. I attended one of the best raves of my life there about ten years ago, and it completely changed the way I think about event spaces. A theme park already feels like another world, and when you combine that atmosphere with electronic music, lights, and thousands of people sharing the same energy, it becomes something truly special.

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

Of course. My next release is something I’m really excited about: an EP on Hottrax featuring two incredible tracks that I’m very proud of. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the studio creating new music, so there’s plenty more to come throughout the year. I’m looking forward to sharing all of it and continuing to grow both as an artist and as a producer.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

A fun fact that most of my listeners don’t know is that my first DJ “residency” was actually in high school. We had a 40-minute break every day and a student-run radio station that played music across the school, and I was the one choosing the tracks. Looking back, it feels like the universe was giving me an early sign of what I’d end up doing.
