14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHRich nxt

Interviewed by GBS , November.16.2021

Q: How would you describe yourself in one word?

Determined

Q: What was the driving force that got you into Music Production and when?

The love of music has been there all my life. I guess the really informative time was sat listening to pirate radio hardcore and jungle as a teenager in my bedroom and going to my first raves

Q: Analog or Digital? And why?

Such a hard one. I really don’t come down either side of the fence, both have their uses when used at the right time! I guess digital can be quicker and less expensive for people to start off - but time and expense weren’t part of the question!

Q: What's your favorite venue and why does it stand out from the rest?

93 Feet East is my spiritual home. There are so many amazing clubs out there, that you get to experience when touring that it’s impossible to have just one home. But as they say ‘home is where the heart is’…

Q: If you were to have a superpower, what would it be and why?

I’d like to have super hearing so that all the years listening and playing loud music didn’t affect my hearing in any way!

Q: If you had to play 1 more track at your favorite club, what track would it be and why?

Probably one of my debut tracks Bristle. It is a special one for me and the string swell at the end still give goosebumps when I hear it    Q: 1 person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

I regularly dream about hanging out with my dad again

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score from the past, what movie would you choose and why?

One of my favourite movies of all time is Aliens. So much great imagery that you could work with

Q: Recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would fit a perfect rave?

Where I live there are lots of cool rural/urban spaces near canals and old industry. I love these kind of places. Overgrown concrete adorned with graffiti and far from any neighbours!

Q: What are 3 tracks that got you into electronic music?

NRG – Need Your Lovin’

Prodigy – Weather Report

Krush – House Arrest

Q: Tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for this year.

I am about to drop my first EP on Hot Creations this month, followed by a collaboration EP with Quenum on Elrow. Then in early 2022, the new instalment of my label NxT Records. Looking further into the year expect something fresh coming on Fuse London!.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners don't know.

I help coach the local cricket team for the youngsters in the summertime!

Q: Last but not least, do you have any questions for the viewer/reader?

Where do you want to see me on the road!?
