Rodrigo Carranza, better known as Sunday Noise, has quickly gone from a local hotshot to an international newcomer in the scene. With over fifteen releases in 2024 alone, his relentless work ethic is clear, while consistent backing from the likes of Joseph Capriati, The Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, and more fuels his steady ascent. Now, adding another name to his SB Recordings roster, Loco Dice calls up Sunday Noise to deliver three whopping tracks in ‘Brazuca’, featuring collaborations with Kevin York and Vito Natoli.
The title track ‘Brazuca’ kicks off with a bouncy energy, driven by jittery percussion and lively samples that cut through a nostalgic, tech-infused bassline. Next, Noise and York combine their efforts for ‘Real Jungle’, blending gritty rap vocals, pulsating beats, and a skanky groove that adds a raw, heavy energy to the track. Noise wraps up the EP with ‘Losing Ya’ alongside Natoli—a track already causing a stir in Dice’s sets—bursting with massive, whomping synths and a ravey euphoria, it’s a perfect fit for the big stage..
Q: Please introduce yourself
Hello there, my name is Rodrigo Carranza, most known as Sunday noise :)
Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?
It will definitely be Skrillex, I love his vibe and he has always be one of the most influential people that impacted in me.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I would like to see the future, so I can see where I’m gonna make it and to help the people around me lol.
Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?
I would choose the movie Whiplash. The movie speaks about a guy that discovers a passion for the music being a drummer, and he pushes himself to the limit just to better himself up, it’s a very motivating movie for me.
Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?
I would say Skrillex, he is one of the people who has had the greatest impact on my life as an artist, I also like Red Hot Chili Peppers, my family showed me them when I was very young and that passion for the music really marked me.
Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?
It's been a long way, from sending demos for a lot of years to my big inspiration and learning from them, this is not new to me, I’ve been always into the music and I love where this Is taking me.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?
The perseverance… to always have the desire to transmit the energy to the people through the music, I really feel connected and comfortable when they enjoy what I create.
Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?
The set that I played at Substance Chile with my partner Robertico, it was very lit!
Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?
Learning from the artist who really inspire me, I’ve come from making dubstep as a kid and playing with the drums, the music has been evolving lately so you have to adjust yourself and create!
Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?
I would go into the Rock industry... One of my favorite bands is Red Hot Chili Peppers, I’ve always loved the way that the guitar sounds. By the way, I have a guitar and I always play with it, creating new sounds.
Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?
Skrillex - Cinema remix
Deadmau5 - I Remember
LMFAO - Lalala
All these three were on my repeat all day when I started to think: “I want to be a DJ,” I was around 10 years old.
Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?
In La Mina Beach in Paracas... Because it is such a beautiful place and vibe.
Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?
Well right now, I just released “Brazuca” EP on Loco Dice’s “Seran Bendecidos” record label, for me it's like a dream coming true because I’ve always rocked with his style and the way he makes music.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?
Hahaha that would be imitating Michael Jackson in some random moments!
