14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHTHE BEATBOY'S

14/04/2026

Barcelona-based DJ/producer duo The Beatboy’s return to Ilario Alicante’s Sound D’Elite for a third outing with their ‘Motion’ EP on the 20th March, following a pair of notable appearances on the label throughout 2025. Heavily influenced by hip-hop, their dark, glitchy sound has also landed on labels such as Moan, Short Circuit, COCO, and Deeperfect, while behind the decks, the groove merchants have performed at venues including Printworks, Space Miami, Amnesia, Pacha, and more. Now, with their ‘Motion’ EP, they showcase their slick approach to production with two certified late-night club weapons.

Title track ‘Motion’ pulses with an elastic bassline that carves space for an electrifying tension, guided by warped vocal hooks and a thudding low-end. On the flip, ‘Whispers’ magnetic rhythm and rap vocals contrast with its ominous atmosphere, pulling dancers deeper into its rolling, kinetic flow.

Q: Please introduce yourself

We are The BeatBoy's, two guys, one from Lima, Peru, named Aldair, and the other from Menorca, Spain, named Lluis.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

We would go for coffee with Joseph Capriati; we think it would be an interesting chat. So he can tell us about his experience in the music industry.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation, because it allows us to reach any place in the blink of an eye.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

Gladiator and Interstellar because they are our favorite movies.

Q: Who influenced you the most in your music career and why?

In terms of production, our references in their early days have been Wheats and Niteplan, and in terms of DJs, without a doubt, Ilario Alicante and Joseph Capriati.

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

We met at the academy, created our project "The BeatBoys," and dedicated a lot of time to finding our sound. Now we have a defined sound, but it's constantly evolving. From the beginning, we've had great support from major figures in music and signed with prestigious record labels, and we continue working to improve every day.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out their career in music?

Someone who is passionate about music, who seeks out sound, who is patient, and who uses references.

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

The New Year's Eve party we had in Valencia, at Club Spook, exceeded all expectations thanks to the energy on the dance floor, the great atmosphere, and the incredible sound.

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

In terms of sound quality, we have improved our musical composition; our creative level has also evolved over time.

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

Hip Hop, our music is already heavily influenced by that genre, that's why we chose it.

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

Who Loves The Sun, All I Want Technasia Remix, Percolator Jamie Jones, because that's what was being played most at the time.

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

In Peru, I would say on the green coast, next to the sea.

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

Well, our EP was recently released on Ilario Alicante's label, consisting of two tracks, "Motion" and "Whispers." Soon, one of our most requested tracks from last year, "Sunset Over Giza," will be released. We'll also be playing at the official Medusa Festival after-party, among other things.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

Lluis always DJs with the CDJs on the right side, and I use the left.
