Good day, I am Keef Luv, I host a radio show called Deeep Luv on The One Ibiza, I’m a musician, DJ, producer and remixer. Among my other skills… Chef, cleaner, gardener, pool guy, dog-dad, general tomfoolery, nurse, exclusive cocktail maker (flammable sangria), housewife.

Q: How would you describe the Malaga scene in your point of view?

Malaga itself is an AWESOME place to visit, the scene there is so varied as it’s a university city, there is literally something for everyone!!! The more underground clubs are geared towards Tech House and there are occasional Deep and Progressive nights. A little outside Malaga City is Torremolinos, here I’ve had some amazing nights out, and there’s a new club in town which I must go to. My favourite place to play and just outside of the Malaga Region is Tarifa, there they know how to party and the music absolutely kicks, Deep and Progressive as you like…

Q: What was your all-time favorite show  from the past? And why?

I have a good few years under my belt doing radio shows now, and have a whole load of memorable ones, of course, Toka in their infancy guesting on one of my broadcasts being one of them. Undoubtedly my all-time favorite show is Graham Gold. Why? The man to me is an absolute legend, Peach is a pinnacle of my past and he has introduced me to some fantastic musical journeys. We try and keep talking to a minimum in our sessions however, on this occasion, a fair amount of the session was Graham talking. In fairness, he’s been around since the late 80’s, so there was a lot of ground to cover…

Q: Recommend a hidden gem in Spain that you've always wanted to throw a rave in

That’s so easy. Practically right on my doorstep there’s a disused quarry near the top of a mountain. I’ve had many visions whilst exercising the fur babies (dogs), if you can imagine a giant oval of about 1km long and 500m wide, a HUGE amphitheatre almost. Anyway, the main stage is at the bottom and there are ten terraced levels, each level having a different genre of electronic music. The entrance is all pink and fluffy thanks to the bushes either side, this is where the local produce is sold… I could continue but you’ll steal my idea. “Build it, they will come.” as said in some big film from a few years ago.

Q: What's the Purpose/Message behind the sound you play and produce?

The music I play is mainly Melodic House & Techno, I like to play Techno if it has cojones, and Progressive House, the combination of these provides an awesome journey, there are peaks and troughs and plenty of tracks which aren’t just following the standard 1, 2, 3 or 4 chord pattern. The music I produce has been sitting around in my head for a long while, call me mad but, inside my head I can hear, among a whole load of other things, symphonies, ready orchestrated and eager to get out. There’s an element of emotion in my music too, as a lot of it comes from the heart. There’s no underlying message behind it, I’m no lyricist, just a hope to massage the listener’s ears and uplift them.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

Brian Eno, this was a head-churning toss-up between JMJ, Steve Hillage (System 7) and Celine Dion.

Q: If you were to have a super power, what would it be and why?

Without question I’d be Captain Common Sense and would go around the world zapping stupid people with my Common Sense Cannons (CSCs). Need I explain?

Q: If you had the chance of doing a film score from the past, what movie would you choose and why?

War of the Worlds, sorry, the music from that really grates on me, I love the film but the music sucks and for that reason I choose that please.

Q: If you weren't a DJ and Music Producer right now what would you be pursuing instead?

I think I’d be a teacher of some sort.

Q: Fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners don't know

I’m a cross-dresser? Joking… Erm, my mum sang The Ovaltinees song live on BBC Radio just after the end of WW2

Q: Tell us about your upcoming plan and releases for this year

My plan is to continue to grow Deeep Luv, we’ll be featuring more-and-more artists and airing more promos ahead of their release. Production-wise, my head is brimming with ideas, who knows, maybe an album?

Q: Who do you want us to interview next?

Sebastien Leger?
